The Los Angeles County district attorney’s office has requested “additional follow-up” from the Redondo Beach police detectives in the investigation of Kings defenseman Slava Voynov.
This came after a review of his case Wednesday afternoon at the district attorney’s office, according to Redondo Beach police Lt. Joe Hoffman.
“Upon completion of the case review, the district attorney’s office requested additional follow-up before making a determination on the filing of charges related to this investigation,” Hoffman said.
Voynov was arrested early Monday morning after an alleged domestic violence incident in Redondo Beach. He has a court date scheduled for Dec. 1 and Hoffman noted “today’s requests will be presented to the district attorney’s office prior to that date for consideration of filing charges.”
Authorities had several options to consider Wednesday: filing a felony charge or a misdemeanor charge, sending it back to investigators for additional information or opting not to file any charges.
