Lakers center Andrew Bynum looks up at the scoreboard late in the fourth quarter of the Lakers’ Game 6 loss to the Denver Nuggets on Thursday. (Wally Skalij / Los Angeles Times / May 11, 2012)
Never mind Kobe. Give Lakers fans two IV bags of fluids before each game so that we can stomach this team.

For all that Kobe Bryant has enabled them to achieve, shame on Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum and the rest of the Lakers for putting forth such a pathetic effort in Denver on Thursday night. If ever they had an opportunity to show a flu-riddled Kobe their support and appreciation, this was it. And they gave nothing!

Is there a more gutless and entitled team in NBA history than the Lakers (with the exception of Kobe)? I have been watching Lakers basketball for more than 40 years and Matt Barnes and Steve Blake are so bad they make Don Ford and Elmore Smith look like Hall of Famers. Even if they get lucky, or all the calls, and get by Denver in Game 7, I have lost complete interest in this soft group of prima donnas.

Because the Lakers play in an arena named after the company that promotes the gizmo, do you think Staples could come up with an “Easy Button” for Andrew Bynum to push in tonight’s third close-out game?

Anyone dumb enough to think that “close-out games are actually kind of easy” must also believe that it’s easy to find a good parking spot on the Westside.
