Fans can now get a sneak peek of Baz Luhrman’s screen adaptation of The Great Gatsby, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan and Tobey Maguire, as narrator Nick Carraway.
Based on the 1925 F. Scott Fitzgerald novel, the film is due to open Dec. 25 and centers on the mysterious, wealthy (and romantic) Jay Gatsby, played by DiCaprio. Mulligan is the object of his undying affection, Daisy Buchanan.
Though set in New York’s Jazz Age 1922, the film, in typical Luhrman fashion, features modern music from Kanye West and Jay-Z, as well as Jack White, according to the 2½-minute clip, which also features lavish parties, costumes and fireworks. Twenty-three, skidoo!– Liz Raftery
