After a dispute about her lines, Nicollette Sheridan says that Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry settled the argument in a shocking way.He hit her with his open hand, she testified in court Thursday.
"It was a nice wallop to my head," the actress said in her multimillion-dollar wrongful termination trial in a Los Angeles courtroom.
Asked by her lawyer if she was willing to demonstrate in court for him, she said, "I don't want to hurt you."
Sheridan, 48, also alleged she lost her job as saucy real estate agent Edie Britt on the hit series after she complained about Cherry's behavior as boss.
She claimed that Cherry hit her when she argued for different lines that she said would have made the scene funnier.
"It was shocking, humiliating, it was demeaning," she said.
Cherry, who says he tapped Sheridan lightly to demonstrate how to perform in a scene, denies that Sheridan was fired out of retaliation and contends that writers killed off her character from the show for creative reasons.
Housewives stars including Eva Longoria, Marcia Cross and Felicity Huffman are on the witness list for the defense.
