It appears to be the end of the road for one American Idol contestant – and it has nothing to do with singing.Jermaine Jones, 25, a vocal instructor from Pine Hill, N.J., Tweeted that he is no longer in the competition.
"Awww I will no longer b on the show," Jones wrote on his official Twitter account, which has since been deleted.
FOX, which airs Idol, has no comment.
According to a report on TMZ.com, Jermaine lied about his criminal past to show producers.
He was reportedly arrested twice last year – one of the incidents allegedly involved violence – and still has outstanding warrants.
Viewers have already said goodbye once to Jones, who host Ryan Seacrest dubbed a "gentle giant." After judges Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson left him out of the top 24, Jones was invited back as one of 13 guys competing in the live shows.
He was in the bottom three last week but survived the elimination that sent Jeremy Rosado home.
