(PEOPLE.com) — Jim Carrey made a memorable cameo at Conan O’Brien’s stage show in L.A. on Saturday night, performing the title role in a spirited duet with O’Brien of the Five for Fighting song “Superman.”
Carrey’s unexpected appearance in a cape and tights brought screams of delight from the crowd at O’Brien’s “Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on TV” show, which he performed Saturday at the same Universal lot where he used to film “The Tonight Show.”
“Jim Carrey rudely interrupted my power ballad last night. How did he get past security in a Superman outfit?” O’Brien Tweeted later.
Carrey, 48, who’s been on a Twitter binge himself in recent weeks, posted a Tweet of his own, which read: “Loved doin’ concert with Conan! So many faces wide open like kids! The world was new and worry forgotten by all of us!”
