El ídolo juvenil Justin Bieber (de 18 años) está dispuesto a demostrar que ya no es un niño, por lo que ha buscado un sonido más maduro en 'Boyfriend', primer sencillo de su nuevo disco, en el que se rinde a la influencia de su tocayo, Justin Timberlake (de 31 años).Producido por Mike Poster, quien se dio a conocer a su vez como intérprete del tema 'Cooler Than Me', el tema se puso hoy a disposición del público a través de una conocida plataforma de descarga digital, y alcanzó las primeras posiciones en países como España, EEUU y Canadá.
La continuación de 'My World 2.0' es una canción con marcada percusión y tintes de R&B y hip-hop, en la que incluso la voz del cantante suena diferente, muy similar a la tesitura y la afición por los agudos de Timberlake.
Hace unos meses, el novo de Selena Gómez dejó ver su intención de emular en sus próximos discos lo que en 2006 hizo Timberlake con el experimental álbum 'FutureSex/LoveSounds': "Era un sonido diferente y yo también quiero ser capaz de crear el mío propio", dijo entonces.
Tras el álbum navideño 'Under The Mistletoe' (2011), 'Boyfriend' es el adelanto del que será su tercer disco de estudio, 'Believe', el cual aún no tiene fecha de lanzamiento oficial.
