El secretario de Gobernación, Alejandro Poiré Romero, descartó que las elecciones sean anuladas por el crimen organizado, ya que en los últimos años, dijo, ''las elecciones en México funcionan y funcionan bien''.Sin embargo, señaló que el posible interés de la delincuencia de intervenir en los comicios es un riesgo latente que se detectó desde hace tiempo, pero se ha trabajado con el Instituto Federal Electoral (IFE), así como con las autoridades electorales estatales y los partidos políticos, para disminuirlo.
En entrevista con 'Primero Noticias', que conduce el periodista Carlos Loret de Mola, aseguró que las campañas electorales iniciaron con “saldo blanco”, con todos los órganos electorales funcionando, con los partidos políticos alistando su estrategia de campaña y con el respaldo del gobierno federal, “para que todo funcione bien”.
Poiré indicó que se verán unas campañas ''muy vibrantes, de mucho contraste'', donde la ciudadanía tendrá la oportunidad de elegir, y aun cuando se pudiera presentar algún incidente México cuenta con instituciones fuertes y sólidas, y los actores políticos tienen la madurez para llevar a cabo un proceso limpio.
Destacó el trabajo que realiza la administración federal para llevar una elección en paz, y mencionó que se cuenta con un mapa donde se han identificado los mayores riesgos de intervención de la delincuencia organizada en los comicios electorales.
Asimismo, el titular de la Secretaría de Gobernación (Segob) señaló que no hay reportes específicos de amenazas contra los candidatos que aspiran a la Presidencia de la República.
Reiteró que el Poder Ejecutivo se encuentra listo para los próximos comicios y aseguró que seguirán apoyando a las autoridades electorales para garantizar la paz y la tranquilidad en la jornada electoral.
Por otro lado, negó alguna injerencia del gobierno federal en el proceso y aseguró que tanto la administración federal como la Procuraduría General de la República seguirán actuando durante la jornada comicial apegados a la legalidad e invitó a la ciudadanía a denunciar cualquier irregularidad.
