El actor y su papá fueron esposados frente a la embajada de Sudán en Washington mientras se manifestaban en contra de la violencia y el hambre

George Clooney fue arrestado este viernes en la mañana por desobediencia civil tras manifestarse ante la embajada de Sudán en Washington.
El actor, quien es conocido por su activismo político, culpa al gobierno de Sudán por los ataques que han herido y asesinado a centenares de civiles y por el hambre que padece la población. Se le esposó en las afueras de la embajada mientras protestaba por el bloqueo de comida y ayuda médica que afecta a dicha población, según informa Today Entertainment.
El papá del actor, el periodista Nick Clooney, de 78 años, se encontraba con él y también fue arrestado.
Clooney sabía que la manifestación tendría ese desenlace, pues al ser la embajada una propiedad privada se producirían los arrestos. Fueron advertidos en tres ocasiones por la policía antes de ser esposados.
El miércoles por la noche, el actor fue uno de los invitados a la cena de la Casa Blanca en honor del primer ministro británico, David Cameron.
En declaraciones a los periodistas que cubren la Casa Blanca el actor dijo que pidió a Obama que convenciera al gobierno de China para que se una a la presión internacional sobre el gobierno sudanés para que éste permita que las fuerzas de socorro entren en la frontera sur del país, una zona azotada por el hambre.
