Actress Aubrey Plaza has signed on to voice the Internet’s favorite pouter, Grumpy Cat, in Lifetime’s upcoming TV movie, Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Best known for playing sullen and sarcastic intern April Ludgate on Parks and Recreation, Plaza should make an ideal fit for Grumpy. The 30-year-old received the part after Glee star Jane Lynch turned down the chance to voice the frowning feline.
The live-action Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever will tell the story of a pet store kitty that is consistently passed over by shoppers, until a girl who can communicate with the cat comes along.
Fans can watch Plaza’s best Grumpy Cat impersonation when Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever airs Saturday, Nov. 29 at 8 p.m.
