The Fashion Police producer expressed words of gratitude for the “kindness and support” her and son Cooper, 13, have received during this difficult time since her mother’s passing Sept. 4, she wrote in a WhoSay post Wednesday evening.
“As my son Cooper and I mourn the loss of my mother, we want to thank everyone for the beautiful cards and flowers conveying heartfelt messages and condolences, which continue to arrive from around the world and through social media,” the post read.
“My mother would have been overwhelmed by the scope and depth of the love that people have expressed for her. It is certainly helping to lift our spirits during this time.”
“We are forever grateful for your kindness and support in continuing to honor my mother’s legacy, and for remembering the joy and laughter that she brought to so many.”
Rivers had gone to a NYC outpatient clinic on the morning of Aug. 28 for a scheduled endoscopy intended to help diagnose her hoarse voice and sore throat. At some time during the procedure, Rivers, 81, stopped breathing and went into cardiac arrest.
The comedienne was celebrated at her funeral in N.Y.C Sept. 7, which was a star-studded, laughter-filled occasion.
