After Monday’s emotional Bachelor finale, Sean Lowe and his new fiancée, Catherine Giudici, appeared on ABC’s After the Final Rose special for the first time in public as a couple – and spoke to host Chris Harrison about what’s next.
“A marriage follows a proposal,” Sean said. “We don’t have a date yet, but we have decided that we think it would be cool, since our relationship started and it was developed and cultivated on a TV show – we’ll have our wedding on a TV show. And ABC will cover the wedding.”
Harrison was thrilled with the announcement that the newest Bachelor couple will have a televised wedding, just like former Bachelorette couple Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum.
“You are going to get married – we don’t have a date yet – very soon,” Harrison said.
“Soon,” Catherine said. “I don’t see why there would be any waiting period. I want to be his wife.”
And Sean agreed: “I want to spend the rest of my life with her. I can’t wait to have the wedding,” he said. “If it were up to me I’d go to the courthouse and get it done.”
“It just so happens, I am ordained,” Harrison replied. “We could do this.”
Catherine quickly asked, “Do you have a dress?” And Sean suggested that their families might be upset if they took their vows without them.
“We have never had a couple like this,” Chris said, “to come out of the gate so sincere, so serious and ready to take that next step … Congratulations, it really is beautiful.”
As they plan their wedding, Chris asked if they’ll be moving to Sean’s hometown, Dallas.
“Life is so crazy right now,” Sean said. “I’ve figured out one thing: don’t plan your life out because God is going to throw you a curve ball real fast. But she’s packed her bags and whatever happens, we’re going to do it together.”
