Good, 19, recently completed a two-week trial at St James Park and Newcastle are now keen to sign the youngster on a permanent basis.
The deal, reported to be worth around £400,000, is not yet done, but the Australian’s representatives are eager to push it through.
The player’s agent, Zeljko Susa, told the Herald Sun: “Discussions are ongoing and we are hopeful of a positive outcome.
“It would be a fantastic opportunity for Curtis to continue his football development with a successful club from one of the world’s best leagues.”
Centre-back Good played a key role as Melbourne reached the A-League final for the first time last season.
