Paris Saint-Germain manager Laurent Blanc believes Newcastle United player Yohan Cabaye could be the perfect addition to strengthen the French champions.

Former France national squad boss Blanc took the reins of the Paris club as title winning manager, Carlo Ancelotti, moved to Spain for the lead role at Real Madrid.
And the arrival of Blanc has intensified transfer speculation surrounding PSG, with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis forced to deny the French club had made an offer for star striker Edinson Cavani.
However, Blanc admitted his side did need strengthening ahead of the new season, and made no attempt to hide his admiration for his former international player, Cabaye.
“Yohan offers many things in midfield and can play in quite a few positions,” Blanc told Sky Sports.
“He is an interesting player, and the midfield will be an area we will be strengthening because there will be departures.”
Blanc also highlighted the need for cover in the defence, hoping the club could entice a quality left-back to join the Ligue 1 champions, while insisting he hopes to breathe new life into the careers of players left behind under Ancelotti, especially centre-half Mamadou Sakho.
“Lucas Digne and Eric Abidal are of interest to PSG, if one of the players mentioned happens, it would be a good thing,” he said.
On Sakho, Blanc added: “For me, there is no problem. It is with great pleasure that I work with him.”
