The summer movie season really kicked into gear Wednesday with the premiere of Super 8 in Los Angeles, featuring some of Hollywood’s biggest names.
Producer Steven Spielberg and director J.J. Abrams were joined by the sci-fi film’s stars, including Elle Fanning and Kyle Chandler, as well as colleagues and friends such as Tom Cruise and Conan O’Brien.
Cruise looked casual and happy as he strolled solo down the black carpet, stopping here and there to chat and seeming entirely at ease.
The afterparty was modeled like a vintage block party on a closed-down section of Weyburn Avenue in Westwood. Guests dined on Fatburger sandwiches and appetizers like deviled eggs, mini tacos, apple sausage corndogs and guacamole tostadas. There were also hot dog and cookie bars, as well as a 7-Eleven truck with lemonade and slushies.
Jenna and Bodhi Elfman held court at one table at the bash, chatting with Modern Family‘s Nolan Gould, who plays Jenna’s son in the upcoming film Friends With Benefits.
Other guests included Donald Faison, Jaime King, Michael Clarke Duncan, Terry Crews and Amanda and Aly Michalka.
