Tony Pulis enjoyed his first game in charge of West Bromwich Albion as his new team hammered Conference Gateshead 7-0 at the Hawthorns.
Gateshead had the better of the first half an hour but as soon as Saido Berahino scored the floodgates opened. Berahino went on to score four goals, while Victor Anichebe, Chris Brunt and James Morrison also found the back of the net.

Swansea joined their Premier League counterparts in the fourth round with a 5-2 win at League Two strugglers Tranmere Rovers. Blyth Spartans of the Northern Premier League looked to be on course for another famous FA Cup shock when they went two goals in front against Championship side Birmingham City thanks to two goals from Robert Dale. But the Blues came back strongly after the break and scored three times in six minutes through Lee Novak and Wesley Thomas (2) to ensure their passage 3-2.
A shock was avoided by Premier League chasing Derby County, who needed a 93rd-minute penalty to win 1-0 at home to another Conference side, Southport..
